SWAN's Mission is to develop Mandarin Chinese language proficiency and enhance awareness of Chinese culture in students.
For over 20 years, SWAN has served the City of New York by creating one of its largest most academically enriching Chinese immersion programs.
We believe that students with a wide range of cultural experiences and linguistic abilities are uniquely positioned to assume leadership positions in different contexts. Global citizens in an increasingly competitive and demanding international environment will be charting new courses across a wide range of industries.
Our existing and developing programs provide families with access to Chinese cultural and language experiences. By providing after-school instruction and summer camp experiences, we have and continue to meet the needs of these families. Our new preschool program is a testimony to this commitment. By working locally, we are preparing students to work in global contexts.

While providing early language learning opportunities that take full advantage of both traditional and innovative teaching techniques, advanced technologies, and strategic partnerships, SWAN seeks to share its best practices and replicate its success.
SWAN is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization that has been serving the community for over 25 years. Every dollar we raise–whether it be from grants, tuition, or donations from our community–goes toward ensuring that bilingual education is accessible for the next generation of global leaders.
